Crabby Shack, the beloved Crown Heights-based seafood restaurant, is the first pop-up at Gotham Market at The Ashland. Co-founders Fifi Bell and Gwen Niles bring their acclaimed crab-focused menu to the highly anticipated Fort Greene market, serving crab tacos, crab cake sliders, crab BLT and crab grilled cheese, along with family-style steamed Dungeness and Alaskan crab legs. For dessert, guests can enjoy classic banana pudding and rum cakes.
Bell and Niles opened Crabby Shack’s first location in Crown Heights in July 2014, to recreate the crab feasts they enjoyed while growing up with their families in Philadelphia and the Chesapeake Bay. They look forward to bringing Crabby Shack to Gotham Market at The Ashland’s Fort Greene community, where they both currently reside.
Crabby Shack is the first restaurant to participate in Gotham Market at The Ashland’s neighborhood incubation program. The market will host a rotating selection of Brooklyn-based business owners in four-month sessions, offering local food purveyors the opportunity to feed the market’s hungry customers and raise awareness for their businesses, while operating in one of the most exciting new food destinations in Brooklyn.
