Mason Jar opened its first Brooklyn location in Gotham Market at The Ashland, bringing its Southern hospitality to the borough with a menu specializing in beer, bourbon and barbecue. Founded by the hospitality group behind Manhattan’s Mason Jar and Ugly Duckling in Brooklyn, Mason Jar’s new outpost will serve a variety of signature comfort dishes including Pulled Pork and Brisket Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Smoked Chicken Wings, hearty sides such as Cornbread and Cheddar Cheese Grits, as well as a variety of barbecued meats, smoked on-site daily. A selection of 30 beers on tap, many of them local, complements the Southern-influenced menu, and is accompanied by a list of whiskey and bourbon-based cocktails. Mason Jar’s bi-level space features two seating areas: one that serves as an extension of the market’s communal dining area and another that offers full-service tables and a fully stocked bar, ideal for groups gathering to watch special events or cheer on their team.
